This project deals with a strange kind of nature. Despite being omnipresent, it is perceived more as a side note in the commonplace. It is being profoundly shaped by humans and often left to their own devices. I am amazed by its rough vegetation and a high degree of adaptability and almost infinite diversity.

For several years I have visited various marginal areas and explored them in detail. This series captures my impressions from nature reserves, urban and industrial sites. I often discover human traces which offer room for interpretation. Questions arise about the area's purpose and its historical background.

The photographs appreciate the diversity of these mysterious edges where resilient vegetation masterfully compensates for a human-induced disturbance. For the most part, it is a non-verbal response to our global activity.
